Seeking Information on the Dermont/Dearmont, and Related Families of Virginia: 17th-18th Century

RECOLLECTIONS OF WASHINGTON STROTHER DEARMONT

In 1923, Washington Strother Dearmont documented his memories of life in Clarke County, Virginia, which were titled "Recollections of Washington Strother Dearmont" when they were included in the book, "Annals of Clarke County, Virginia", by Stuart E. Brown, Jr

In  2002 we received permission from Mr. Brown to post the Dearmont memories on this site, and we have done so below, using page images scanned directly from the book.

This documentation covers the Civil War period.  Not only has it been an invaluable source of information for our research, it is written in such a way that reading it is almost like "being there".
